KUCHING (July 10): A woman suffered several injuries after being allegedly stabbed with a knife by her husband at a house in Jalan Tabuan here yesterday afternoon.
Kuching district police chief DSP Ahsmon Bajah said a report of the incident was received at around 1.10pm.
“The suspect was identified and he surrendered voluntarily at the Crime Investigation Department office in Kuching district police headquarters here at 2pm today,” he said in a statement last night.
Ahsmon said the victim suffered several injuries on her body, however she is reportedly stable and is currently receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
The case is investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code, which carries a sentence of 20 years of prison or whipping.
“The police is investigating the cause of the incident and wish to remind any parties to refrain from making speculations that can disrupt the case’s investigation,” he added.
