BINTULU (Aug 26): Operations at the vaccination centre (PPV) at Tatau Sports Hall were officially suspended at 1pm yesterday (Wednesday).

The PPV under the National Covid-19 Immunisation programme had been in operation since March this year.

Tatau administrative officer Winnie Dian and PPV coordinator Mohammad Fazlee Abdullah were among those present during a simple closing ceremony.

Winnie, who represented acting Tatau district officer Calvin Ligong —Tatau District Disaster Management Committee chairman, extended her appreciation to all front-liners and volunteers at the PPV.

They were personnel from the Ministry of Health, MyVacc volunteers, Movac, People’s Volunteer Corps, Agriculture Department, and Tatau District Office.

“Thank you very much for your strong support, those who were involved in making the vaccination programme in Tatau District a success.

“Those in Tatau who are yet to receive their jabs can go to Tatau Health Clinic this Saturday for the vaccination,” said Winnie.

Three other PPVs in Bintulu Division, namely at Sri Kenyalang Hall, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus; Dinner World Restaurant; and Sebauh Community Hall, have also closed as Bintulu has achieved an over 100 per cent vaccination rate for the eligible population.

The sole PPV still open is at BDA Sports Centre in Kidurong, which will be used as a centre to vaccinate those aged 12 to 17 soon.
