KUCHING (July 14): Sarawak recorded three new Covid-19 clusters today, one involving a health facility in Kota Sentosa here.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said the cluster dubbed the Sentosa 2 Cluster involved staff and residents of the health facility.
“A total of 181 individuals from the cluster were screened and 52 were found positive for Covid-19 including index. Another 129 still awaiting lab test results,” said SDMC.
The other two clusters are the Doyoh Cluster in Bau and the Jalan Teo Kui Ngo Cluster in Meradong.
The Doyoh Cluster is a community cluster which infected 22 individuals with Covid-19 out of 82 screened, while seven others still waiting for their lab test results.
The Jalan Teo Kui Ngo Cluster, also a community cluster, had 13 individuals tested positive for Covid-19, while 24 others were still waiting for their lab test results.
SDMC also revealed that of the 98 active clusters today, 10 recorded a total of 38 new infections.
Clusters that reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases today were the Sentosa 2 Cluster with 16 new cases, Tembok Miri Cluster (8), Sungai Sengkabang Cluster (3), Jalan Teo Kui Ngo (3) and the Industri 121 Kuala Baram Cluster (2).
Clusters recording only one new case today were the Lunyim, Nanga Tada, Pagar Tebedu, Kampung Kendaie and Duyoh clusters.
“Five clusters, namely the Emperan Cluster in Selangau, Jalan Jambusan-Sunchar Cluster in Bau, Ijus Penyelayan Cluster in Miri, Jalan Daya Cluster in Kuching and Jalan Keruing Cluster in Kuching, have ended after no cases were reported from them in the past 28 days too,” said SDMC.
Meanwhile, Sarawak maintained 21 red zone districts, four orange zones districts, 14 yellow zones districts and one green zone district as of today.
Daro remained as the sole green zone district.
The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
