Pasir Salak member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman will be issued a RM1,500 compound notice for failing to wear a face mask during his press conference on the LRT collision
Dang Wangi police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah told Malay Mail that the fine amount was decided by the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) after the investigation paper was returned to the police yesterday.
He said, “It was decided that Tajuddin should be fined RM1,500 for committing an offence under Regulation 17 (1) Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in Local Areas of Infection) Regulations 2021 for his failure to wear a face mask during a press conference as stipulated under the Movement Control Order (MCO) standard operating procedure (SOP).”
“The fine will be issued at the earliest,” he added.

The offence took place on Monday, 24 May, at the KLCC LRT station where he was photographed speaking to the press without wearing a face mask under his face shield
According to the existing MCO SOP issued by the National Security Council (MKN), it is mandatory to wear a face mask beneath a face shield.
Previously, the former Prasarana Malaysia Bhd chairman explained that his decision to wear only a face shield was so it would be easier for the press to hear him.
He was quoted by FMT saying, “I was told the face shield was good enough. I am sorry if the face shield was not good enough. The shield is not an ordinary shield, (it was) specially ordered from a reliable source.”
“But how do you talk during a press conference with a face mask? So, I thought a (transparent) shield would be better,” he added.
