SIBU (June 5): Seven individuals were each slapped with a RM2,000 summons yesterday for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government under the Movement Control Order (MCO).
According to Sibu Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the summonses were issued during the police operation headed by ASP Kushairy Bujang to check on the compliance of SOPs set under the latest MCO.
The operation started at 9.30am and ended at 1pm.
Out of the seven summonses issued, he said four were issued at Jalan Channel whereby one lorry driver was compounded for failing to produce a work permit when requested.
Three individuals were compounded for traveling together in one vehicle and could not give reasonable explanation for flouting the SOP.
Stanley said another three individuals were compounded for failing to check in using MySejahtera when entering a bank at Jalan Kampung Nyabor.
He also said that all seven individuals were compounded for violating Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (No.4) 2021.
