KOTA KINABALU: Seven individuals were arrested at an entertainment premises in the city centre early Sunday morning.
Those arrested in the 1.40am operation dubbed Op Noda included the premises caretaker and three foreigners with no identification.
According to DSP Alhusin Halil from the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters, inspection found the individuals breaching Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 restrictions.
“They were held under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 for failure to comply with physical distancing, visiting an entertainment premises and failing to scan their MySejahtera,” said Alhusin.
Aged between 17 and 54, three of the detainees also tested positive for drugs.
Meanwhile, the premises caretaker is to be investigated under Section 4 of the Public Entertainment Ordinance 1958 for operating during the MCO.
“No items were confiscated and all the individuals were brought to the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters for further action,” said Alhusin.
