SDDMC achieves daily target with 5,247 vaccinations on June 15

Dr Annuar shares a slide on the number of people vaccinated in three districts under Sibu Division as of June 15 during the Facebook live session.

SIBU (June 17): The Sibu Division Disaster Management Committee (SDDMC) has achieved its target for daily vaccinations this month after completing 5,247 vaccinations on Tuesday (June 15).

SDDMC coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee said the committee’s target for daily vaccinations for June, July, and August was 4,779, 5,836, and 7,260 vaccinations respectively.

“On June 13, we conducted 3,959 vaccinations and the number went up to 4,386 on June 14, and on June 15, we achieved our target with 5,247 vaccinations per day.

“This showed our vaccination capacity has increased,” he said during a Facebook live session last night.

He commended all those involved for their hard work in ensuring all eligible Sibu folk are vaccinated.

As of Tuesday, 67,444 individuals in Sibu Division had been vaccinated — 26,948 completed their second dose, while 40,496 had received their first dose.

“They are among 157,585 individuals or 67.8 per cent in this division who have registered for the vaccination programme up until June 14.

“Sibu Division — comprising Sibu, Kanowit and Selangau districts — has a total of 232,528 individuals aged 18 and above who are eligible to receive Covid-19 vaccines.

“This means we are still short of our target to get at least 70 per cent of those eligible to be vaccinated in the division,” he said.

He urged those aged 70 and above in Sibu and Kanowit who have yet to be vaccinated to notify the committee.

“We want to complete the vaccination for individuals in this age group as soon as possible,” he added.
