Saratok district now red zone after 45 local transmissions reported

KUCHING (June 13): Saratok district has now turned into a Covid-19 red zone after reporting 45 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

Including Saratok district, the committee said the state has a total of 30 districts being classified as red zones.

The other red zone districts are Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Kabong, Dalat, Bau, Marudi, Meradong, Lubok Antu, Beluru, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Betong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Collectively, a total of 8,440 local transmissions were reported in the red zones in the last two weeks.

Lundu and Simunjan are the only Covid-19 orange zones while yellow zones comprise of Matu, Pusa, Julau, Belaga, Lawas, Daro, Tebedu and Limbang.

There are no Covid-19 green zones left in Sarawak.

The Ministry of Health has classified districts with more than 40 cases in a two-week period as red zones, 21 to 40 cases as orange zones, one to 20 cases as yellow zones and those with no cases as green zones.
