In his 1MDB trial yesterday, Najib asked the court to push back the time of today’s start from 9.30am, saying he wanted to provide emotional support to his wife during her case proceedings that was scheduled at the same time.

High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah agreed to defer Najibs trial to 10am or whenever Rosmah’s case proceedings concluded.

Rosmah’s trial started on February 5, 2020. She’s accused of soliciting RM187.5 million in bribes and receiving bribes totalling RM6.5 million from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd’s managing director Saidi Abang Samsudin in exchange for helping the company secure the RM1.25 billion project for the supply of electricity to 369 rural schools in Sarawak.

The prosecution, led by Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, last year called a total of 23 prosecution witnesses to testify in the trial.
