KOTA KINABALU: The distribution of food baskets in Sabah under the Bantuan Prihatin Covid-19 3.0 programme is progressing well, especially in the Lamag constituency.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said the State Government had allocated a total of RM34,366,500 for the distribution of food baskets in the state.

Bung, who is also Lamag assemblyman, disclosed that the Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM) and the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK), led by Community Development Leader Abu

Bakar Gapar, are managing the distribution of food baskets in his constituency.

“However, some of the villages have yet to receive the food baskets due to communication restrictions and standard operating procedures (SOP).

“But, I will make sure that everyone would receive the assistance,” said Bung when met after the state cabinet meeting at the Sabah State Administrative Centre (PPNS) on Wednesday.

The State Works Minister added that the UPPM and JPKK would also assist in the dissemination of information regarding the importance of Covid-19 vaccine.

Bung added that the Lamag constituents have been responding well to the use of vaccines.

More than 3,000 households from 19 villages in Lamag have received their food baskets thus far.
