MIRI (June 30): Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) Miri team will continue to help people who have yet to receive the Covid-19 vaccines register for vaccination.
PSB Pujut branch chairman Bruce Chai said the team had made arrangement to get six senior citizens aged 72 to 88 years old for immediate vaccination at Curtin vaccination centre (PPV) on Monday.
“These senior citizens have registered for the immunisation programme but they have yet to receive their appointments.
“We have highlighted the matter via the vaccination hotline. Thanks to staff at the Ministry of Health here for their prompt assistance on the request,” he said during a visit to the PPV at Curtin on Monday.
The party’s central women chief Suzanne Lee and Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How’s personal assistant Steve Teo joined him during the visit.
Chai said many people who have registered for the immunisation programme were anxiously waiting for their appointments by checking their MySejahtera App in the hope that they would be called for vaccination.
“We shall continue to remind the people that we are here to assist them in any way we can to get as many people as possible to be vaccinated.
“We also provide free transportation to those who need to go to any PPV within the city.”
Senior citizens above 60 and individuals with various disabilities (PwD) who have not registered or yet to receive their appointments can contact PSB Miri team at 013-8858888 for assistance.
They (senior citizens) are also encouraged to get their vaccination immediately at the Curtin PPV via walk-in.
The Curtin PPV administers 1,500 doses a day.
