Police tracking down inmate after Puncak Borneo Prison break

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the police were still tracking down the escaped inmate.

KUCHING (July 1): A male convict currently facing sentence at the Puncak Borneo Prison has managed to escape from the prison around 6.10pm today.

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan when contacted confirmed that there is a runaway convict on the loose.

“We are currently tracking down the inmate,” said Aidil.

It was believed that the inmate has fled the prison compounds and made his way into a nearby jungle near the Kuching Police Training Centre at Jalan Puncak Borneo here.

Earlier today, mugshots of four different convicts were also circulated, however, it could not be verified as to which one managed to escape.

No other information were available at time of writing as the operation to track down the inmate was still ongoing.
