The special parliamentary sitting which was set to resume on Monday, 2 August has now been postponed to a later date yet to be determined
In a letter addressed to the members of Parliament (MPs), the Dewan Rakyat secretary’s office stated that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has instructed for the postponement.
The letter stated that the postponement is in line with a suggestion from Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and a risk assessment by the Ministry of Health.
As per the letter, MOH found that Parliament was at high risk of COVID-19.

The sittings began on 26 July and were to have ended on 2 August
On Thursday, 29 July, at around 3.30pm, Deputy Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon announced a lockdown in the Parliament building after two personnel were found to be COVID-19 positive.
