On 29 November, a video of a police officer allegedly assaulting a foreign worker in Taman Jasmin, Senawang was circulated on social media
The six-second video shows a uniformed man repeatedly kicking the person.
According to Bernama, the victim was a Myanmar factory worker. He was sitting next to his friends while waiting for his turn to get on a bus to a quarantine centre.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is aware of the incident and an investigation is underway
Seremban district police chief ACP Mohd Said Ibrahim told Sinar Harian that a police report was lodged regarding the video and they are actively tracking down the officers involved, as well as the victim.
He also said that the police will “conduct a detailed investigation without compromise and take appropriate action”.
“No one is above the law,” ACP Mohd Said told Bernama.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
