Malaysians below the age of 60 can register for the AstraZeneca opt-in vaccine programme beginning at noon on Wednesday, 26 May
The Special Committee for Ensuring Access to COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) announced the news on Twitter today, 25 May.
In a virtual press conference, Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin added that the vaccines available will be administered at vaccination centres in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor, and Sarawak.

The second round of the AstraZeneca programme is currently only open to senior citizens above 60 since Sunday, 23 May
However, Khairy said, out of the 1.2 million slots available to the high-risk group, only 228,347 have been taken up so far.
The announcement refutes speculation on social media that the vaccination will be made available to those younger than 60 earlier than originally scheduled.
