Malaysia has recorded 7,654 new COVID-19 cases today, 6 July
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH)’s Telegram group, the last time that the daily COVID-19 cases surpassed 7,000 was on 5 June.
Today’s total number of new cases marks the highest number of cases since 3 June, which had 8,209.
Malaysia’s highest number of COVID-19 cases reported within a 24-hour period was on 29 May with 9,020 cases.
Since 1 July, the number of COVID-19 cases has never dipped below 6,000. The last time the nation recorded below 6,000 cases was on 28 June and below 5,000 cases on 22 June.
Last year today, Malaysia merely recorded five new cases, reported New Straits Times.

Selangor recorded the most cases with 3,260, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan with 1,550 and 698 respectively
The state with the least cases is Perlis with only two cases, followed by Terengganu with 61 cases.
Putrajaya recorded 33 new COVID-19 cases.
Today’s number of cases brings the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases to 792,693.

Meanwhile, 6,585,002 individuals in the country have received their first dose of the vaccine as of yesterday, 5 July
According to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, 2,735,474 people have been fully vaccinated.
The country administered 313,761 doses of vaccine on Monday.
