KAPIT (June 13): Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat thanks the state government for allocating fund for food baskets to families affected by the movement control order (MCO) in the state.
He said 6580 households in his constituency benefited from the assistance.
“I thanked GPS Government for providing various assistances including the food baskets to families in Sarawak. For us in Kapit, this is the third time, each time during the imposition of MCO.
In my constituency, Bukit Goram, which has 215 longhouses and 6580 households in Kapit Town, Malay Kampungs, housing estates, housing settlements, individual houses and longhouses, every family received this food assistance”, said Jamit
He commended officers from the Kapit Resident Office and Kapit District Office for organising and helping in the distribution of the food baskets.
“I am happy because the food distribution ongoing smoothly. I thank those involved for their good works”, said Jamit.
On the Covid-19 vaccination, Jamit is optimistic that in the coming weeks more Covid-19 vaccine doses would be available as the chief minister had announce that 16, 640 doses would be supplied to Kapitevery week to speed up mass vaccination to create herd community by end of August .
“There are 20 Mobile Vaccine Teams going to the rural interiors in Kapit to expedite the vaccination. I am still waiting for feedback on the mobile team from Kapit Health Department when to commence,” said Jamit
He was speaking in response to Abang Johari’s visit to Kapit last Wednesday during which the chief minister announced several grants for the Kapit Division and met the people there.
