“I Feel Good Tenenenenenenet” And Other Things Malaysians Are Gonna Miss About ntv7

After more than two decades of screening, ntv7 bids goodbye with its last transmission today, 16 February

The public TV channel, which was first launched on 7 April 1998, will be replaced with a new educational channel known as DidikTV KPM.

Recognised as Malaysia’s second-oldest private television channel, ntv7 has held many memories for Malaysians since the ’90s.

Here are just some of our favourite moments:

1. Waking up on weekend mornings or clocking in on the evenings to watch our favourite cartoons like Doraemon and Crayon Shin-chan

2. Making sure we didn’t miss any episode from our favourite TV series and having to wait a WHOLE WEEK to watch the next one

Binge-watching? What’s that?

3. Knowing James Brown’s I Feel Good song by heart

No matter the festivity or celebration, the TV channel would always have its rendition.

4. For those who didn’t have Astro, ntv7’s debut felt like we finally had some access to “cooler” TV shows that other channels didn’t air

5. Watching the different logo changes through the years and through every festivity

6. Knowing what this means

ntv7’s test card during downtime meant that it was time to pee, we woke up too early, or it was time to go to bed.

7. How many of us swapped between 8TV and ntv7 to catch our favourite back-to-back shows?

When choices were limited compared to Netflix, you just settled for any show with potential. T_T
