MIRI (June 5): The Miri Hospital Visitors Board (MHVB) is raising funds to purchase 10 units of iPads for Miri Hospital.
MHVB chairman, Karambir Singh in a press statement on Thursday said the iPads are needed for the Pharmacy Information System (Phis) to prescribe medication to patients in the wards.
“Utilising these iPads as working tools will speed up the clinical process between the clinicians and pharmacies, saving paperwork and enhance patients’ safety,” said Karambir.
He added that five units of iPads have already handed over to Miri Hospital.
“The board highly appreciate kind donors and organisations who have contributed towards procuring these iPads,” he said.
On Thursday , the Lions Club of Miri Host president Bryant Chin handed the sixth unit of iPads to Miri Hospital deputy director Dr Francis Heng.
“We thank the Lions Club of Miri Host for its fast response to the appeal. These efforts will help strengthen the digitalisation of healthcare services in Miri Hospital, to further improve efficiency and effectiveness,” he added.
