A man recently died in a tragic accident on the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway
According to The Star, the incident took place around 12.10am today, 2 December.
The victim was a 34-year-old dispatch rider headed towards the Sungai Besi toll plaza.
Investigations found that the victim was hit by a man who dozed off while driving a Honda Civic in the third lane
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya told Harian Metro, “The man driving the car then crashed into the victim’s Honda EX5 that was in the left lane.”
“Due to the accident, the motorcyclist was dragged for about 1.5m and sustained severe injuries,” he added.
The victim was then pronounced dead in the ambulance while en route to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre in Cheras.
The car driver was taken to a police station to undergo a breathalyser test for alcohol
“However, the test results were negative. The man is now under remand until Friday to assist investigations according to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” Zulkefly said.
