KUCHING (June 22): Sarawak administered 43,809 doses of Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday, said Minister for Local Government and Housing Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

In his Facebook post yesterday, the minister said as at 11.59pm on June 20, a cumulative total of 610,485 first-dose and 186,008 second-dose vaccine shots had been recorded.

“(Cumulatively) a total of 796,493 of Dose 1 and Dose 2 vaccines have been administered in Sarawak,” he said.

In an earlier post, Dr Sim reminded everyone to take note of the locations visited by any positive case along with the recorded times, which would be identified after the locations had undergone risk assessments by the medical specialists.

He headlined the post with the question: “What should you do if you had been to the places visited by a positive case?”

The post was linked to Dr Sim’s Telegram channel, in which he said those who had been to places visited by any Covid-19 positive case must undergo testing immediately upon having developed the symptoms.

“To stop the spread of Covid-19 in Sarawak, the SDMC (State Disaster Management Committee) has started announcing the date, time and location of any place visited by any confirmed Covid-19 case.

“What should you do if you have visited these places? Please take note and act immediately.

“Get tested immediately if you exhibit any symptom,” the minister said in his Telegram post, which was attached with an infographic recommending that these people must come forward to get tested even if they had no symptoms.

Dr Sim further said the lists of exposed locations by any Covid-19 cluster could also be found on his ministry’s website.
