KUCHING (June 17): Sarawak was still 59 per cent short from hitting the target of 80 per cent population herd immunity for Covid-19 as of Wednesday, according to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

Based on an infographic posted by Ukas on its Facebook page today, a total of 438,621 or 21.47 per cent of the state’s population had been vaccinated.

“As at 11.59pm on June 16, a total of 1,405,883 individuals or 68.82 per cent of the Sarawak’s population had registered for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme,” said Ukas.

At present, there are 71 Covid-19 Vaccines Administration Centres (PPVs) across Sarawak.

In another infographic also posted on Facebook today, Ukas reminded individuals to check and update their personal details on MySejahtera before making their trips to any PPV.

They must fill out the health assessment questionnaire on the mobile app and are asked to read and understand the Covid-19 Vaccination Consent Form on MySejahtera.

“They should be present at the designated PPV at the scheduled time and date, and bring along with them their MyKad and mobile device that has MySejahtera on it.

“They are advised to use clothing that is suitable for taking the jab on the upper arm, preferably short sleeves,” said Ukas.

Ukas added that the elderly and persons with disabilities are encouraged to have someone to accompany them.
