KUCHING (July 8): A total of four more locations in Sarawak today have been listed in the Health Ministry’s Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) surveillance system.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said they were the H&L Supermarket BDC and Aeroville Mart in Kuching, and New World Mart Sdn Bhd and Sing Kwong Medan Supermarket Sdn Bhd in Bintulu.
Meanwhile, Matu District reverted to yellow zone from orange after recording only 18 Covid-19 cases in the past two weeks, said SDMC.
The committee in a statement today said this brought the total number of orange zones in the state to three, yellow zone 13 and green zone still at one while maintaining 23 red zones.
The red zones were Betong, Bukit Mabong, Saratok, Tebedu, Telang Usan, Song, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tatau, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu which recorded a total of 5,174 cases.
The orange zones were Lundu, Pakan and Sebauh with a total of 88 cases, while the other yellow zones were Kabong, Simunjan, Tanjung Manis, Julau, Lubok Antu, Dalat, Marudi, Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas a total of 148 cases.
Daro remained as the sole green zone.
The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
On another note, the police had issued 39 compounds, Kuching (26), Bintulu (8), Miri (3), Sibu (1) and Lawas (1) for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).
The top offence was ferrying of passengers over the allowed limit (18), followed by not wearing face mask (8), not scanning MySejahtera (4), loitering in public places past midnight (3), holding activities which is not allowed (2), operating non-essential premises (1), failing to ensure working capacity according to the SOP (1), failing to provide hand sanitiser and thermometer (1) and travelling inter-district without police permit (1).
“The total number of compounds issued since the Movement Control Order was implemented in March 18, 2020 to-date was 8,999,” said SDMC.
At the same time, made an arrest on a local man and seven Indonesians were for falsifying permit and not having Movement Control Order travel permit.
Similarly, the Local Government and Housing Ministry also issued eight compounds, three in Bintulu Development Authority, Bau District Council (2) and one each in Padawan Municipal Council, Sibu Rural District Council and Meradong and Julau District Council.
The offences were not updating attendance book or incomplete book (4), not scanning MySejahtera (4) and exceeding the allowed private vehicle capacity (1).
This brings the total number of compounds issued since Feb 1 to-date to 1,253.
