KUCHING (June 21): The country’s Covid-19 cases passed the 700,000 mark after 4,611 new cases were recorded today.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the latest figures brought the cumulative number of positive cases to 701,019 cases nationwide.
He said in a Facebook post that Sarawak recorded 682 new cases and was the second highest in the country.
The state’s cumulative number of cases now stood at 60,482.
Selangor continued to record the highest single-day cases in the country with 1,346 cases while Perak was third with 453 new cases.
New cases were also recorded in Negeri Sembilan with 437 cases followed by Johor (314), Kuala Lumpur (310), Kelantan (219), Melaka (205), Kedah (182), Sabah (166), Labuan (130), Penang (84), Pahang (50), Terengganu (18), and Putrajaya (15).
Perlis was the only state which did not record any new cases.
