BINTULU (June 22): Compounds totalling RM39,000 were issued during an integrated operation at two factories here yesterday for failure to comply with Movement Control Order standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Bintulu Health officer Dr Melvin Chung, who led the 9am operation, said enforcement teams held surprise inspections at several premises.
“The owners of the two premises were issued RM10,000 compounds each for allowing the attendance of more than 30 per cent workers.
“An RM10,000 compound was also given to one company after they were found to be holding face-to-face meetings,” he said.
Dr Chung said six individuals were also issued compounds of RM1,500 each for not checking in via the MySejahtera application.
He said as Covid-19 cases here are still not showing signs of declining, total SOP compliance by all parties is required.
On another matter, Dr Chung said Covid-19 vaccination centres (PPVs) here will not implement the walk-in vaccination method at present.
“For now our priority is for those who have registered via MySejahtera and have been given appointments.
“There were some who missed out on their appointments and were given special appointment times under our health clinic,” he said.
He urged the people to follow their vaccination appointments and also advised them to avoid sharing unverified or fake news to prevent congestion at health clinics or PPVs.
