Firefighters extinguishing the fire that almost completely destroyed a bus near the junction of SK Mentas along Saratok/Pusa Road near Saratok this morning.
SARATOK (June 22): A bus was almost completely destroyed after it caught fire near the junction of SK Mentas along Saratok/Pusa Road near here this morning.
According to Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) chief Nazry Mohamat, they received a call on the incident at 9.36am and despatched a team of ten firefighters to the scene.
“When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the bus was already 90 per cent destroyed. We managed to extinguish the fire using the water that was sourced from the fire engine,” he said.
Nazry said no one was injured during the the incident as there was no passenger in the bus.
“The driver managed to get out of the bus before it burst into flames,” he added.
Nazry said they have yet to ascertain the cause of the fire as investigation is still ongoing.
