KUCHING (July 13): Farley Mini Market in Bintulu has been added to the Ministry of Health’s Hotspot Identification for Dynamic Engagement (HIDE) system today, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
This brings the number of premises in Sarawak listed in the HIDE system to 252 to date, the committee said in a statement today.
On May 8, National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said HIDE premises and locations had potential to turn into clusters if pre-emptive actions were not taken.
“Premises listed under HIDE are different from the list of clusters issued each day by the Health director-general. Premises listed under HIDE do not need to close except when directed by the authorities,” he said.
If no hotspots emerged in the premises after the implementation of pre-emptive actions, these premises would be removed from the HIDE list within a period of seven days after their listing, he added.
Meanwhile, Dalat District is now classified as a Covid-19 yellow zone district from orange after recording 18 cases for the past 14 days.
This means that there are now 14 districts classified as yellow zones in Sarawak, while 21 red zone districts and four orange zone districts still remain.
Daro remains the sole green zone district in Sarawak to date.
The Ministry of Health categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmissions as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
Kuching topped the red zone district list with the highest number of local Covid-19 infections recorded in the past couple of weeks, at 1,102, followed by Sibu (452), Miri (328) and Bintulu (238).
Other red zone districts recorded below 200 local infections over the last 14 days. They are Sarikei (179), Telang Usan (177), Mukah (177), Subis (171), Bau (170), Saratok (163), Meradong (155), Serian (149), Song (142), Tebedu (137), Samarahan (116), Tatau (99), Sri Aman (94), Kapit (89), Kanowit (85), Lundu (58) and Selangau (52).
The committee added that the four orange zone districts are Betong with 23 local cases for the past 14 days, Lubok Antu (22), Bukit Mabong (22) and Asajaya (26).
Apart from Dalat, the other yellow zone districts are Sebauh with 14 local cases recorded in the past 14 days, Pakan (10), Matu (13), Kabong (6), Simunjan (10), Tanjung Manis (9), Julau (9), Marudi (15), Beluru (4), Limbang (5), Pusa (4), Belaga (5) and Lawas (2).
