Last night, 11 February, a café in Section 13, Shah Alam, allowed a group of 10 people to dine in at a single table, violating the standard operating procedure (SOP) under the Movement Control Order (MCO)
Shah Alam district police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib said that the 10 individuals, aged 18 to 22, were found eating at the same table where only two people per table are allowed under MCO rules.
“All 10 customers have been compounded,” he said in a statement today, 12 February.
The group was a mix of boys and girls, according to the photos circulating on social media.
The café was found to be operating without a valid permit
According to ACP Baharudin, a check with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) confirmed that the café has been operating without a valid licence.
Additionally, the manager is a foreigner who does not have a work permit.
“We also arrested a 35-year-old Bangladesh national for working there without a valid work permit,” ACP Baharudin said, adding that his compliance task force team had gone there after a public complaint.
