KUCHING (Aug 26): A villager found an abandoned newborn baby girl in a motorcycle basket at Kampung Siol Kandis around 5am today.
According to sources, a 16-year-old girl, believed to be the mother of the child, has been arrested and brought to the Sarawak General Hospital for medical treatment.
The baby is understood to be warded at the same hospital and is said to be in a healthy condition.
At the scene were police from the Kuching district police headquarters.
