Sarawak records 1,772 new Covid-19 cases as nation registers 19,807 cases

KUCHING (Aug 22): Sarawak’s total tally of Covid-19 cases will soon breach the 100,000 mark after it registered 1,772 new cases today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post said the cumulative number of cases in the state now stands at 98,300.

The country recorded a total of 19,807 new cases today, bringing the cumulative total of positive cases in the country to 1,555,093 cases.

In addition to Sarawak, six states registered four-digit cases as well namely Selangor with 5,379 cases, Sabah (2,638), Kedah (1,948), Penang (1,501), Johor (1,391), and Kelantan (1,196).

New cases were also recorded in Kuala Lumpur (999), Perak (703), Pahang (598), Melaka (558), Terengganu (534), Negeri Sembilan (508), Perlis (54), Putrajaya (24), and Labuan (4).
