KUCHING (June 25): A total of 600 individuals were given the jab at the Bintangor Community Hall Covid-19 vaccine administration centre (PPV) yesterday.
Of these, 400 were recipients of the second dose and the rest the first dose, said the PVV chairman Dr Nur Khairi Deris in a statement.
According to the statement, the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NCIP) has gone well in the Meradong district, and it is hoped that more volunteers will come forward to further accelerate the vaccination process.
One of the second dose recipients Mohd Azizi Girim could not be more delighted that he had completed the vaccination.
He thanked the government for the NCIP, which makes sure that no citizen is left out of the vaccination process.
He also called on those who had not registered for vaccination to do so in order to get vaccinated and help break the chain of Covid-19 infections.
Tuai Rumah Junis Juli, another individual who completed his vaccination, said over 90 per cent of those from his longhouse had been given the jab.
He said he looked forward to more people of Meradong coming forward to receive the vaccine.
