KOTA KINABALU: Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2021 champion Maya Hejnowska has been appointed as Sabah SMI Products Ambassador in conjunction with Buy Sabah Products Campaign which will be launched soon.
The appointment letter was presented by Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam to Maya, 20, in a brief ceremony held at the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) here on Tuesday.
Joachim who is also the state Minister of Industrial Development said the ministry will cooperate with Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) for the appointment of Maya as Sabah SMI Products Ambassador for a year.
“Congratulations for emerging as Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2021 winner to Maya and she will promote Sabah SMI products including acting in the video clip for Buy Sabah Products Campaign.
“Maya will also be required to attend campaign opening ceremonies as well as exhibitions and expo in the state organised by MID…as the ambassador, Maya will receive a cash prize of RM10,000,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday.
Joachim said the Buy Sabah Products Campaign is aimed at introducing products made by Sabah SMI entrepreneurs for the people in the state.
“Currently there are more than 4,000 Sabah SMI products in the local market and 2,340 products have been registered on the ministry’s official e-commerce platform through GoBiz application. The Ministry has also identified the slogan, logo and official song which was created specially for this campaign,” he said. – Bernama
