KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd’s (SESB) service counters throughout the state, will start operating as usual on Monday (July 5), said its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ir Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid.

This, he said, was in line with the government’s move to give flexibility to the services sector during the National Recovery Plan (PPN) period.

Abdul Naseer in a statement on Saturday said that service counters including drive-thru counters will start operations at 8am to 5pm (Monday – Friday) except in Labuan which is still closed due to the extension of the Enhanced Movement Control Order on the island.

“Preparations had been made in accordance with the rules and SOPs set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) to protect users and employees of SESB. This includes ensuring SESB customers wear face masks, perform body temperature checks, register their attendance through MySejahtera before entering the premises as well as using hand sanitizer provided and practice social distancing,” he said.

“We would like to advise consumers to register for the SESB online customer service system (OCS) to facilitate matters related to electricity bills. Registration can be done through the link https://ocs.sesb.com.my,” he added.

Abdul Naseer also said that to ensure that the number of customers served at service counter is controlled, the implementation of the ‘Drop Box’ is still used where customers drop the relevant application documents into the box provided at the SESB Auxiliary Police Counter.

SESB will then contact the user within 48 hours to inform the receipt of the forms and action to be taken, he said and reminded consumers to provide complete information so that SESB staff can contact them for the next process.

Meanwhile, electricity bill payment can still be done through other payment channels such as payment kiosk, online banking, collection agents such as GrabPay e-Wallet, Shopee e-Wallet, Touch & Go e-Wallet, Lazada e-Wallet, MyBoost e- Wallet, Paynow e-Wallet, Panda Marketing Android, Richtech Android, e-Pay Terminal, Shell, BHP, Petron, Petronas, KK Mart, Mobility One Terminal, and TM Point.
