KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s daily Covid-19 cases shot up to 322 on Saturday with two prisons recording a total of 123 cases overnight.
Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun also said in his daily statement that one death was recorded in Tawau.
“Sabah’s daily cases shot up overnight to 322. It’s due to 123 cases from Tawau prison (97) and Kepayan prison KK (26). That’s 38.2 per cent of today’s total.
“Tawau is top with 112, Kota Kinabalu 72, Kudat 34, Beaufort 34, Sandakan 19, Pitas 12, Kota Belud 11,” he said.
Both prison clusters, Kluster Tembok Tawau with 97 cases and Kluster Tembok Kota Kinabalu with 26 cases contribute 38.2 per cent of the total of Saturday’s daily case.
The other cases are from the existing clusters and close contacts from the targeted screenings.
Districts that recorded single digit cases were Papar (6), Semporna (4), Putatan (4), Keningau (4), Kota Marudu (3), Penampang (3), Lahad Datu (2), Kalabakan (1) and Tuaran (1).
Eleven districts recorded zero cases namely Telupid. Beluran, Kunak, Kinabatangan, Tongod, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Ranau, Tenom, Nabawan and Tambunan.
