Sabah to hold science carnival

KOTA KINABALU: The  (KSS) 2021 will be held for the first time from July 5 to Oct 4.

It is jointly organized by the Education Department here and the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry, and will be held online due to the pandemic.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Yakub Khan in a statement on Friday, said that the event meets the ministry’s aim to inculcate the culture of science, technology and innovation as the catalyst of Sabah’s socio-economic development.

He said that his ministry hoped the carnival will raise the interest of students and the community in science and technology, engineering and mathematics related education and careers, and raise the competitiveness of Sabahans and the state in the eyes of the world.

He invited the participation of everyone, especially students, in the carnival which will be launched on July 5 at 10am and accessible via the Facebook page ‘Karnival Sains Sabah’.

Among the highlights of the carnival are competitions for students from pre-school to secondary school level as well as webinars.
