PETALING JAYA: Former Umno leader Khairuddin Abu Hassan has filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, claiming that the latter does not have the legitimacy to advise the Yang Dipertuan Agong to declare an emergency.
In his originating summons filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Monday, Khairuddin posed legal questions to be answered by the courts on whether Muhyiddin, who he claimed had lost his majority support in Dewan Rakyat, could still advise Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to proclaim an emergency in the country.
