KUCHING (June 15): The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today categorised Julau as a Covid-19 red zone, bringing the number of districts categorised as red in the state to 30.
“This is after it had recorded a total of 72 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days,” said the committee.
The other districts that are red zones in Sarawak are Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Kabong, Dalat, Bau, Marudi, Meradong, Lubok Antu, Beluru, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu.
Simunjan returned to being categorised as a yellow zone after recording 20 locally transmitted cases in the past 14 days.
The other districts with yellow zone status are Matu, Saratok, Pusa, Belaga, Lawas, Daro, and Limbang.
Districts that remain orange zones are Betong and Tebedu.
No district in Sarawak is classified as a green zone at present.
The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 locally transmitted cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange, and 41 and more as red.
