Widespread blackout in several locations in Sarawak on July 10 around 9.30pm.
KUCHING (July 10): Several areas in Sarawak plunged into sudden darkness as a blackout suddenly occurred at around 9.30pm tonight.
Reports of power outage were received at several locations in Kuching, and as far as Sebauh in Bintulu.
According to SEB’s Twitter account, the blackout was caused by double circuit tripping on Murum transmission lines which caused a major supply interruption.

“Double circuit tripping of Murum transmission lines cause of major supply interruption. Supply is being safely restored progressively,” said SEB.
The utility company earlier during the blackout posted on Twitter that “Tripping of the 275kV transmission lines causing major supply interruption”.
Several places have had power restored starting at 9.45pm.
