On Saturday, 10 April, Deputy Minister of Works Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith was attending a Khatam and Huffaz graduation ceremony for students of Sekolah Menengah Agama Sains Kuala Pilah at Palm Mall
During the event in Seremban, the Deputy Works Minister fell asleep.
Bernama reported that Eddin, who is the Kuala Pilah Member of Parliament (MP), was seen asleep in his chair and appeared unresponsive when he was called by the master of ceremony to officiate the event.
The incident was caught by members at the event and later uploaded online.
In the video, a couple of individuals are seen trying to unsuccessfully wake up the Deputy Minister before his bodyguard joined in to help
The video, which has been uploaded and shared by netizens, has since gone viral.

Under one such upload, the official Twitter account of the Deputy Minister addressed the issue and apologised for nodding off

According to the Deputy Minister, he was not feeling well yesterday.
He, however, insisted on turning up for the event and had taken medication before going there.
