KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Pharmaceutical Society has initiated a video featuring 2021 Sabah Unduk Ngadau, Maya Hejnowska, to encourage people to go for immunization against Covid-19.

The short video shall feature Maya speaking in four languages – Kadazan, Malay, English and Mandarin.

“The message is to win the war against Covid-19 since immunization is the only way forward now, apart from complying with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and the three C’s,” said Jemima Ho, president of the Sabah Pharmaceutical Society.

The three C’s stand for avoiding crowded space, confined space and close conversation.

She added that all the vaccines are certified by the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency Malaysia and the side effects felt after the vaccination are temporary and reversible.

“The experience of vaccination should not be a stumbling block for vaccination. More vaccines are arriving in Sabah as mentioned by the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor. Let’s encourage one another to vaccinate as WHO’s (World Health Organisation) tagline is nobody is safe until everyone is safe,” she said.

She also said that Sabah’s vaccination rate is one of the lowest in the country, and that was the reason for the project with Maya.

The video was taken at Aslam pharmacy in Putatan.

Also present during the shooting were deputy president of Sabah Pharmaceutical Society, Chui Li and Commonwealth Pharmacists Association president Datuk Nancy Ho.
