Several shop owners and residents in Subang Jaya have set up food banks to help anyone who’s struggling financially during the Movement Control Order (MCO)

On 15 June, Subang Jaya assemblywoman Michelle Ng tweeted photos of tables with food items for the community.

She wrote that it’s an initiative by Subang shop owners and Subangites to help those who are finding it hard to make ends meet.

“Take what you need, give what you can,” she added.

Speaking with SAYS, Ng shares that you can help by dropping off basic necessities, such as the following items:

– Dry food (rice, oil, sugar, salt, beehoon, oats, etc)

– Canned food (sardines, mackerel, corn, etc)

– Woody vegetables (long beans, potatoes, and carrots)

– Drinks (MILO and Horlicks)

– Other basic ingredients like garlic, onion, and soy sauce

These are the locations of the food banks:

The Skinny Bakers

17, Jalan SS 15/2A (next to 99 Speedmart)

Batter be Belle

3, Jalan USJ 3A/2 (next to Restoran Ameens Corner)

Alternatively, if there is too much at the food banks, you can reach out to her office to help contribute essentials as well

They are accepting any of the items for care packages that are being delivered to COVID-19 positive patients who are undergoing home quarantine.
