SIBU (June 30): A Magistrates’ Court here today jailed a 25-year-old woman for a total of 10 months after she pleaded guilty to two counts of dishonestly receiving stolen property.
Noor Aishah Razali was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to five years in prison, or a fine, or both upon conviction.
For the first charge, she dishonestly retained stolen traditional Iban accessories and a television on June 5 at around 3.50pm at an unnumbered house at Jalan Yong Kong.
For this offence, Magistrate Mohd Syukri Mokhtar sentenced her to four months in prison with effect from today.
For the second charge, she dishonestly retained a stolen laptop at the same date, time, and place.
Mohd Syukri sentenced Noor Aishah to six months in prison for the second offence and ordered the sentences run consecutively.
