This year’s installment of Level Up KL happened over the weekend, and was streamed on its Facebook page. And part of the event was its SEA Game Awards. Taking the Grand Jury Award is Short Creepy Tales: 7PM, which is made by Malaysian indie dev team Cellar Vault Games.
Alongside the Grand Jury Award, the game also won the Best Visual Art and Best Game Design awards. Short Creepy Tales: 7PM earned the awards owing to its interesting paper cutout representation of characters. Despite this, the characters are animated fluidly, which makes for a very unique experience.
Other games to snag awards at the Level Up KL SEA Game Awards include Fallen Knight by Fairplay Studios, taking the Rising Star Award, and Don’t Stop The Party by UOW Malaysia KDU University College, taking the Audience Choice Award. There’s also Bake ‘n Switch by Streamline Games, Love Esquire by Yangyang Mobile, A Space For The Unbound by Mojiken Studio and DeLight by DreamTree Studio Sdn Bhd, winning Best Technology, Best Audio, Best Storytelling and Best Innovation, respectively.
You can check out these games, as well as the others nominated for the SEA Game Awards, via Level Up KL’s website, linked below. For everything else that happened during the event over the weekend, its Facebook page is the place to go.
