SESB temporarily suspends deposits review

KOTA  KINABALU: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) has temporarily suspended its review process on consumer deposits.

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Ir Abdul Nasser Abdul Wahid said the process had been taking place since May, which was before the implementation of the third Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0).

The process currently involves around eight per cent of the total SESB users.

He said the decision was made after considering the various rebates that were given in March and April.

“However, due to the MCO 3.0 and SESB’s role in the National Recovery Plan, SESB has decided to temporarily suspend the review process,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

He explained that the review is carried out every six months, in accordance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990.

“Users may also sign up for the Online Customer Service (OCS) so it will be easier for them to check and pay their bills,” he added.
