SDMC: 27 more localities in Sarawak put under EMCO

KUCHING (Aug 21): The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) today announced 27 more localities placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

According to SDMC’s statement, 11 of the localities involved longhouses in Sungi Asap, Belaga.

Longhouses Rh Pait Awan and Rh Dang Lajang were placed under EMCO since Aug 17 to 30.

Rh Besi Balan, Rh Robert Long Urun, Rh Udau Tedong, Rh Jangan Bunyi, Rh Bisie Janea, Rh Ating Tajai, Rh Adih Usang, Rh Labang Uvet and Rh Baya Sipat were placed under EMCO from Aug 20 to Sept 2.

Rh Gon Ng, Serian Baleh in Bukit Mabong is placed under EMCO from Aug 18 to Sept 1; Rh Tunai, Nanga Bengap in Lubok Antu (Aug 20 to Sept 2); Rh Benggau Nanga Sut in Kapit (Aug 19 to Sept 2), and Rh Umpang Baleh in Kapit (Aug 21 to Sept 5).

Long Dulit Uma Dikan village in Sungai Asap, Belaga was placed under EMCO from Aug 17 to 30.

Other localities in SUngai Asap include Kem Putra Mas Urun; Uma Pawa Tr Eric William Sia; Uma Badeng Tr Asmidy Agau; Uma Badeng Jambatan Urun Tr Anthony Lerang; Tabika KEMAS Long Urun; Urun Oil Palm Plantation 1, 2, 3, and 4; and SEB SOLAR quarters were all placed under EMCO from Aug 20 to Sept 2.

One village in Asajaya, Kampung Tambirat Lot would be placed under EMCO from Aug 22 to Sept 4.

No EMCO extensions have been enforced on other EMCO localities in the state, SDMC added.

Meanwhile, SDMC announced the end of EMCO in 10 localities in Sri Aman, Bintulu, Tatau, Miri, Meradong, Kabong and Saratok.

In Sri Aman, the EMCO at Rh Gunong, Kamping Samak and Rh Pilit, Kampung Kaong Ulu in Undop have ended on Aug 20 and Aug 21 respectively.

In Bintulu, EMCO has ended on Aug 21 for the Bintulu Fire and Rescue quarters and Rental Room (above Six Two Street shop) No 14 Columbia Shop house.

In Tatau, Rh Ngumbang Anak Ajum, Nanga Sidang and Rh Kilut Anak Along, Sungai Selitut, Jalan Tatau-Bintulu has ended their EMCO on Aug 21.

Other localities which EMCO ended on Aug 21 were Miri Central Prison prisoner placement block in Miri; Rh Rentap, Sg Rayah, Bintangor in Meradong, Kampung Perpat in Kabong and Rh Dennis, Sungai Klampai in Saratok.
