Same SOP for travelling

KOTA KINABALU: As the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been extended for another two weeks in Sabah from June 15 to June 28, most of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) remain the same, including inter-district travel ban.

Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun in statement on Tuesday said that Kota Kinabalu, Putatan and Penampang are not in the same district.

The relevant authorities such as the police, with the help of the army and other security forces will be responsible for the control, and roadblocks will be set up to prevent inter-district travels.

“Inter-district travels are only allowed for emergency cases such as medical and death, work, vaccination appointment and essential services.

“Cases such as natural disaster and death are only allowed with police permits,” he said.

Masidi added that anyone entering Sabah will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine, must have police permit and must be tested negative for Covid-19 at least five days prior to arrival.

Meanwhile, the recent spike of cases in Labuan has also resulted in Sabah not allowing those from Labuan to enter Sabah, unless for security, medical and formal cases. Essential services are allowed, however they must obtain special permit from the state government.
