Sabah receives 628,390 vaccines

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has received a total of 628,390 doses of Covid-19 vaccine or 254,565 vials of Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca as of June 28.

Sabah State Health Director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi disclosed this in her briefing to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor who was present at Bantuan Sabah Prihatin 3.0 handing over ceremony to community of Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) at Manggatal Community Hall on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Christina also said that a total of 555,761 doses had been used for first and second vaccinations.

“We have 72,598 doses remaining, and as of June 28, we have 152 vaccination centres (PPV) in the state, involving health facilities, hospitals, private clinics, halls and private premises as CSR.

“For mobile outreach programmes, 16 districts are currently involved with 20 mobile clinic teams in 195 localities. A total of 19,310 doses of first dose of Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines have been given,” she said.

Hajiji, said he was happy that the National Covid-19 Immunization Program (PICK) in Sabah, including in rural and remote areas, are running smoothly.

“Based on a briefing by Sabah State Health Director (Datuk Dr Christina Rundi), I saw PICK running smoothly, including a government mobile outreach program which also received cooperation from the Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association and the Covid-19 Immunization Task Force (CITF).

“I hope the vaccination process in Sabah will run more smoothly, including in rural areas,” he said in a statement after the event on Wednesday.

Earlier, Hajiji flagged off a Mobile Covid Vaccination team, bringing the second dose of vaccines to Nabawan.

He also handed over Bantuan Sabah Prihatin (BSP) 3.0 aid of RM300 to hawkers and community under DBKK.

DBKK has received a total of RM2,693,716 budget to be distributed to hawkers (RM1,270,200), Housing Project for the Hardcore Poor (PPRT) rent assistance (RM245,016) and food baskets (RM1,178,500).
