No new Covid-19 clusters detected in Sarawak, 95 still active

KUCHING (June 30): No new Covid-19 clusters were detected in Sarawak today, and the total number of active clusters remains unchanged at 95, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

The last time the state recorded no new clusters was last Sunday June 27.

Of the 95 active clusters today, 16 recorded a total of 61 new infections.

The clusters that reported the highest number of new Covid-19 cases today were the Kluster Lunyim Cluster in Telang Usan (13) and Blimbing Cluster in Bau (13), followed by Sungai Kotak Cluster in Meradong (6), Kampung Sebandi Hilir Cluster in Lundu (5), Nanga Tada Cluster in Kanowit (5), Bali Pie Cluster in Subis (3), Kevok Cluster in Telang Usan (3), Po Ai Cluster in Sri Aman (3), Tanjong Lelengau Cluster in Pakan (2) and Jalan Sungai Antu Cluster in Sibu (2), SDMC said in a statement today.

Clusters recording only one new case were Jalan Coastal Bintulu-Miri Cluster in Bintulu, Gran Stumbin Cluster in Sri Aman, Mongkos 2 Cluster in Tebedu, Quadruplex Lapan Enam Cluster in Miri, Luteng Cluster in Telang Usan and Tema Saan Cluster in Tebedu.

At the same time, SDMC also announced the end of the Sungai Ranan Cluster in Kanowit Jalan Endap Sawit Cluster in Samarahan and Tengah Hulu Gedong Cluster in Simunjan after not recording any new positive cases in the last 28 days.

Meanwhile, Sarawak maintained 29 red zones, two orange zones, eight yellow zones and one green zone.

The red zones were Saratok, Simunjan, Tebedu, Matu, Julau, Lundu, Telang Usan, Song, Sebauh, Bau, Meradong, Asajaya, Tanjung Manis, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Sri Aman, Pakan, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu which recorded a total of 7,083 cases.

The orange zones were Lubok Antu and Betong with a total of 60 cases, while the yellow zones were Kabong, Dalat, Marudi, Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas with a total of 92 cases.

Daro remained as the sole green zone.

The Health Ministry categorises a district with no Covid-19 cases as a green zone, and over a two-week period, with one to 20 local transmission cases as yellow, 21 to 40 as orange and 41 and more as red.
