KUCHING (July 8): The State Health Department has declared a new Covid-19 cluster at a police lockup today, dubbed the Pagar Serian Cluster in Serian.
“The cluster involved people in the holding cells who were arrested in Serian and Simunjan districts. A total of 38 inmates were screened, with 14 tested positive, of which 12 were Indonesians and two locals, and 24 were negative,” said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) statement today.
All those who tested positive were admitted to the Serian district quarantine and low-risk patients treatment centre (PKRC).
At the same time, SDMC also announced the end of the Bunut Cluster in Mukah as it not record any new positive cases in the last 28 days.
Meanwhile, the state has 97 active clusters, with 17 continued to report 32 new Covid-19 cases today.
The clusters that recorded new cases were KM85 Cluster in Mukah (4), Cluster 35 in Bintulu (4), Industri 121 Kuala Baram Cluster in Miri (3), Lunyim Cluster in Telang Usan (3), Jalan Kidurong Lima Cluster in Bintulu (2), Blimbing Cluster in Bau (2), Sungai Entajum Cluster in Tatau (2), Sega Cluster in Bau (2), Sungai Pelepak Cluster in Meradong (2), and one case each in Jalan Tanjung Kidurong 3 Cluster in Bintulu, Dulang Cluster in Subis, Sungai Long Seripa Cluster in Sebauh, Sungai Kotak Cluster in Meradong, Tanjong Lelengau Cluster in Pakan, Luteng Cluster in Telang Usan, Jalan Haji Taha Cluster in Kuching and Sungai Sengkabang Cluster in Subis.
