More Sabah areas under EMCO

KOTA KINABALU: Various areas in Sabah will be under an Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from June 17 to 30 following a spike in Covid-19 cases there.

Kampung Rampayan and Kampung Kionsom Kecil in the state capital will fall under an EMCO after 23 of the 57 tests conducted in the area returned positive.

The Taman Ehsan people’s housing projects in Kudat and Kampung Taun Gusi Peninting in Kota Belud will also go under EMCO after eight positive cases were reported in each area. Forty-one tests were conducted in Kudat and 10 in Kampung Taun Gusi Penintin.

in Tawau, Kampung Tanjung Batu Tengah and Taman Semarak Megah will both be placed under EMCO.

Fifteen of the 21 tests conducted at Kampung Tanjung Batu Tengah returned positive while 16 of the 19 tests conducted at Taman Semarak Megah were positive.

Kampung Rancangan and Kampung Kijang Merotai in Kalabakan will also be placed under EMCO after 18 of the total 51 tests conducted in both localities returned positive.

The EMCO at Kampung Simpangan in Tuaran will be extended until June 30. The lockdown in the area was scheduled to end on June 16.

Several areas in Sabah will also see the EMCO there lifted on June 16 after a decrease in cases.

Apart from Taman Nikmat, Kampung Pirasan and Kampung Dundau in Kota Belud, the EMCO at Kampung Sepagaya Hulu (Lahad Datu) and Kampung Sugud (Penampang) is set to end June 16.

The EMCO at Lorong Taman Utama 5, 6, 7 and 8 in Taman Utama and Lorong Ulu Sibuga 5 and 9, Fasa 7 in Taman Mawar will also finish June 16. Both areas are located in Sandakan.
